The “Children’s Rehabilitation Unit”
The “Children’s Rehabilitation Unit” project is the first step for the KSH to develop integrated rehabilitation services that support children and youth in realizing their potential and participating in their communities.
The project involves renovating existing space, upgrading and developing existing programs and services, adding new services with state-of-the-art equipment, and training clinical staff to international standards. It aims to bring high-quality interdisciplinary treatment care methods to children with disabilities, and provides coordinated, child-and family-focused, outpatient rehabilitation care to children and teenagers from birth through high school years who suffer a severe injury or illness resulting in disability. KSH’s goal is to help children and teens optimize recovery, maximize the quality of life and live as independently as possible within their families, schools, and communities.
By upgrading and developing our programs and facilities, KSH’s multidisciplinary team will be available in one location to provide individualized assessments, treatments, and health education for children through innovative clinical service, education, research, and technologies.
